IIRC the fire was started by a spark from a power line, swaying in the wind, in this neck of the woods. In total it burned more than 150,000 acres. Today that area constitutes a gigantic fire break for Los Alamos.
Sony ILCE-1 + FE 50mm F1.2 GM (SEL50F12GM) @ f/11, 1/50 s, ISO 100.
from peter pans flight, last month at disney world. this is considered by many of my photographer/disney fan friends to be the hardest attraction to photograph. due to the speed of the ride vehicles and the very brief windows each scene allows. second hardest is haunted mansion. this lens worked great in both. i really like this lens
Anybody upgraded from Zeiss 50 1.4 ZA and found it worthy? I presume AF on 50 1.2GM be much better but what about overall sharpness, colours and rendering? It is worth to get 50 1.2 GM?

I wrote about this a couple of times, so now in short:
* sharper than ZA
* smoother than ZA
* AF is on a completely different level than ZA, 50GM focuses actually faster than the smaller and lighter 35GM
* roughly the same size/weight as ZA
* I didn't compare CA correction but they did not seem too far off
If you're a 50mm shooter and have the funds for it, it's a no brainer imho. It's the most impressive lens, optically at least, I've tried from the Sony lineup. The images really have intrinsically a lot of "wow" factor .
The "only" real downside is that I've not been able to find a centered copy so far ...

I'd agree with the other comments above. GM is sharper, rendering is quite a bit smoother. It's been a while since I compared them directly, but from recollection I don't think there are significant color differences.
