The picture of the flower a couple posts back has some very structured hazy bokeh. It is a look for sure, not certain I care for it. I see the bokeh not the focal point.

I've had some issues with Polarr's output on a few files lately, looks like that was one of them and I didn't realize it. Reposted a full res version.

Of course, pine needle bokeh is gonna be pretty messy by default, and the APO tamped it down well. You'd get so dizzy you'd throw up if I used the Z 35/1.4 instead

Another day at my local wilderness waterfall. It's only about a 1 mile hike in
The flow is certainly starting to drop off.

Scott, these are beautiful.
What kind of film effect did you apply on these? Were these heavily edited?

Thank you. All 3 have extremely different processing, some are based on film edits I've acquired and the sunset one is one that I've been working on myself. All 3 are highly stylized to have that film look.

I'm hoping Cosina will release a CV 35mm f/3.5 APO-Lanthar, similar to their 50mm f/3.5 APO. The problem with using the M-version of the CV 35/2 APO is that its length significantly blocks the framelines.

With respect to Leica M, it's a ill wind that blows no good. The design and configuration of the cameras limit the size of lenses developed for them, so maybe we will be lucky to see the slower lenses become more popular.

I'd definitely opt for f3.5 lenses at 21mm and 35mm APOs from Cosina, for sure. It's only half a stop down from the 'socially acceptable' f2.8. But with the styling of the 50/3.5, Cosina have placed it very clearly as a retro kind of lens. That might indicate the audience they think will buy such lenses.

Some time back, Lloyd Chambers wrote about his wish for a set of high end f4 lenses that were made for landscapes and other small aperture photography. It might have to do with the pathway we all take into the current state of play, what you get used to at that formative stage.

Mine was via years of medium format film where f4 was the norm. Those medium format lenses, from Zeiss, Mamiya, Fuji and others were very high quality, from wide open. Most were f3.5 or f4, usually with similar element counts as Cosina uses today: 7/5, 8/5, 10/7. Mamiya's famous and radical 43mm (equivalent of 21mm on full frame) was f4.5 and had an 10/6 design.

In some way Sigma has jumped into this niche with their iSeries lenses. They are all reasonable to high performing pieces of glas and clearly lighter than the f/1.2 or f/2.0 offerings from Voigtländer. To my confusion I still prefer the Voigtländer lenses, a relevant part of this is haptics.

15mm/4,5 [28mm/3.5] 50mm/3.5 [85mm/3.5]

This would be amazing and extremely light travel setup (in brackets lenses not yet available).
Unfortunately Voigtländer usually offers only 1-3 lenses of a certain type and not a complete series.

I would love:
1) an f/1.2 to f/1.4 series from roughly 18/20 to 85/100 mm.
2) an f/2 Apo lanthar series (with aspherics and all the bells and whistles)
3) a slow f/3.5 to f/4.5 Apo series (only with ED glas, but not aspherics)
