Thank you very much, Louie! It was a fun Monday, most active day I have seen so far this season, but most actions were pretty far away. This fishing episode was the closest, with the best light during my stay there.
Amazing shots of the harriers, Louis and Geoff! Still trying to find SEOs in our region, they are around.
In the meantime, bald eagles will do. Went to Conowingo for a couple hours yesterday, horrible light for the most part, over 200 eagles, lots of fights. This time a couple actions came pretty close, sometimes too close for 840mm. I will probably head back there one more time this season.
My favorite sequence of today, nice light, fairly close. Sometimes I still struggle to acquire the eagle in the view finder at 840mm, often by the time I found it in the view finder, it was too late. I shoot hand held.
A few more birds from Florida, the Reddish Egret. These guys will put on a show for you when they are hunting, this guy was showing a little of that action.
It's been awhile since I picked up a camera, I heard the shorties have migrated back and was lucky enough to have about 8 in the area one evening. This one decided to take a break but realized there was a thorny limb in its face
I hope this thread doesn't die off as folks are picking up the A1 II. Maybe this thread should be changed to "Sony A1 and A1II Image Thread" so us lowly A1 owners can play with the cool kids.. Kidding aside, I will probably pick up an A1II in March (hopefully with a discount). I already sold one of my two A1s. Not a lot to shoot around here in winter.
