You are probably right about the harness, and I didn’t see the entire setup. Usually there are multiple D rings and some are at waist level. The only way to make sure if you take me with you on plane the next trip and I could be your personal safety inspector. My wife would kill me though? 😅😂😇
I would have died if they had assigned me to sit on the edge of bay door since I have acrophobia. I was in the second row, about 2' from the bay door. I closed my eyes during take off and landing, but once it was up there cruising, I was fine.. I may do another one in June, in Europe this time, will see.
I had not seen deer visiting our backyard in quite some time.
It seems water now has dried up in most places.
So our water dish is being appreciated by birds and deer alike.
All shot in the last two weeks with a1/600GM handheld/prone.
Just waiting for the young to fledge now to get some images of them being fed out of the nest
A little background. I've spent seven Springs working on this species at a number of sites and have documented the full breeding cycle (display, nest build, feeding at nest, feeding out of nest along with flight shots) which has been a labour of love. In particular the last three years with the a1 have been the most productive in terms of being able to get images I was unable to obtain previously, allied to finding sites that were a little more open to light and where I could get cleaner backgrounds.
Some ospreys from yesterday. Looks like an A9III may help getting the perfect diving/touching the water shot.. 600mm is too long for this location when the ospreys spread their wings, a lot of wing clipping. May try the 300mm GM+1.4X TC next week..

Thank you Andy! No, just FW 2.0. I don't dare to do the update so quick this time. I have an air-to-air shoot in June, very very rare opportunity for me. I don't want to take any chance that may mess up the camera.
Cheers D. From your response I'm assuming the camera is in a fairly happy place with 2.0.
I don't dare move from 1.32 but all is working as I like so...

I really can't tell if there is AF difference between FW 1.32 and FW2.0. It's just hard for me to quantify, unless it's done in some sort of controlled test.
The FW 2.0 seemed to be able to pick out the ospreys' eyes pretty well even when the wings were almost blocking the eyes. But ospreys are not exactly fast flying birds...
