Cooper's Hawk. I had a superb opportunity to catch this one in flight as well, but was accidentally in crop mode which clipped it pretty badly.... oh well
This is the mother of 2 Great Horned Owls at Brazos Bend State Park perched adjacent to the tree to her nest and owlets, this was originally recorded in 8K, but downsized to 4K in Final Cut Pro

The three grebe pics are all the same grebe. He caught three fish as I watched. The fish got away from him a couple times and he dove under and grabbed it again. So in that third pic in the 1st set the fish had leaped away from him. I'm not sure if that was the same fish as in the other two sets but it was all the same grebe over a period of 5mins or so.
My greatest pleasure in the nature is watching these actions. I want a camera that doesn't miss any of these actions to freeze it for ever
Pair of Sony A1's arrived today along with 35GM and 135GM
I took some test shots of the A9 against the A1 - using adobe default profile, less magenta in yellows, nicer reds, less contrasty highlights - assume due to more dynamic range which perhaps helps tonality and retaining colour.
Anyway, I'm pleased..
Here's the dogs with the 135GM, colours left alone - this is what Lightroom gave me.
