Yep, we were there Tuesday, this shorty gave an excellent show to the vehicles in the background, where we were, we were upwind so we had more head on shots than them

That is pretty cool, Ken. The upside down head is unusual. Good seeing you again. Were you there again Tuesday? The vehicles in the vid indicate so.

Not much time to shoot recently due to the holidays. Still got some new ones.
Still not convinced of the 2x TC.

Finally got a rail out in the open and at water level. Crawled along the muddy shoreline hidden behind a point to make it happen. After all that effort it walked right up to me as long as I stayed still and low.

Happy new years everyone! I really enjoy the images on this thread.

Im sitting here looking back over 2022, it feels like I just blinked and here we are in 2023.
It's been a very busy year...work, home sold/home bought... move... full blown renovation (on going) family, life... etc.
I still found some time to take some shots and after a full year with the Sony A1, I can confidently say this is the best camera system I've ever owned or shot with...by a mile. I've hardly scratched the surface of what the camera is capable of but, its performed beyond my expectations. That's not to say it didnt come with a learning curve. Moving over from the Nikon D850 to shooting mirrorless was a transition and at first... a bumpy one. Thanks to many of you on this forum, I was able to ask questions and dial in my settings as I learned how to use the camera (still learning) and I thank you all for your knowledge and generosity.
Most of the images taken in 2022 were between Tucson and Sierra Vista with some Bosque del Apache images in the mix. With all that went on this past year, I didn't have time to travel but Arizona and New Mexico have a lot of diversity and I have no complaints.
I hope you all have a fantastic 2023 and I can't wait to see what you all post here as the thread continues to grow.
All the best to you and yours from one very happy to A1 shooter.
Too many shots from the last day of 2022. The snowy egrets were very active in the light rain on new years eve.
I only quit shooting because I don't have a rain cover. Any recommended rain covers for the A1/600GM and A1/200-600G? Preferably that allow use of the evf and flip screen out while hand held shooting.
The sun peeked through for a split second at sunrise
