Looking through some trees and over some prickly pear cacti at the ruins of the Teatro antico di Taormina (the Ancient Greek Theater in Taormina), and across a portion of Taormina at the volcano, Mt. Etna (which is 17.3 miles away as the crow flies from Taorimina).

Absolutely miserable weather for the last few weekends. Most walking paths at the Lagoon were 2+ feet under water and the birds were even more skittish than usual.
Lovely ducks, Christian! I am jealous of the water level shots you guys have been getting. I have been trying to find some hooded mergansers, only saw two few days ago. More eagles from yesterday.

Beak first …
Everyone has their preferred fishing style when the Mullet are running in Florida. This immature Brown Booby flys inches above the water before entering beak first to snag a fish from a passing school. Mullet can be seen around it in the water. The small splashes are from fish jumping from the bird’s path.
