Looking at a Grass Seed Tassel.
Tripod mounted A1 and Voigtlander 110mm Macro Apo-Lanthar. 2 Macro Focusing rails were used to position the camera and lens on the tripod head and tripod. The lower focusing rail for the X-axis (left and right postioning) was the Leofoto MP-180S and the upper focusing rail for the Y-axis (front and back positioning) was the Swebo LS001. Lighting was with Adaptalux studio with Control Pod 3.0 on a small carbon fiber tripod and 3 Adapalux white LED light arms were used.
ISO 100, f11, 1.3 Seconds; silent shutter.

The Brown Hyena, also known as the Strandwolf, is the least common of the three types of Hyena. Found only in Southern Africa, the total population is estimated to be between 5,000 and 8,000. This cub popped up from it’s den not far from the Kwando River that separates Botswana and Namibia to investigate a passing safari vehicle.
