We only get to see the occasional migrant Marbled Godwit on Vancouver Island. Usually once or twice a year.
If we had them all the time I'd probably be bored shooting them but when they show up so rarely I always have a blast with them...especially when they are so tame you can fill the frame at 400mm with them.

Looking across the railing and barrel of the Ferry at the Sicily coast? from the Ferry between Messina on Sicily and the Mainland of Italy.
I believe the barrel contains an emergency boat. The Trenitalia train that we rode from Taormina to Messina was loaded onto the Ferry. The Ferry ride across the Strait of Messina and mainland Italy is 3.2 miles. From there after the train was off loaded, we rode the train to Napoli (Naples).

On the Ferry from Messina to the Italian mainland, Sicily, Italy.
Thanks. Only place I could get a clean shot of this one was from straight underneath, not the traditional eye level shot if possible. Just needed to make sure it wasn't ejecting a pellet on me. The owls are in the middle of a park with dogs and joggers running under them all day so they weren't too concerned.
I wish I found the nest earlier in when they were in the fuzzball stage.
