Some shots from Conowingo this morning. It was pretty quiet for the most part, and for a brief moment, 5 eagles were circling overhead looking for fish, and I followed the one that didn't dive down. There were several fishing episodes, I got two of them but butt shots, I got another one that was not a butt shot but for some reason I got the before and after frames, not the moments the eagle touched the water and grabbed the fish, even though I was at 30 FPS. I think I might have been shooting in burst (as a habit) so I missed that.
This one was far far away, final JPEG file size is only 1.1 MP
Fun weekend on the Space Coast with my son. I so love shooting the a1, and I’m really enjoying the pairing w/200-600. I also got a bunch of neat (for us space nerds) shots in dark settings of the Kennedy Space Center, all at 10000ISO+ and I think they look amazing. The last Apollo 14 Capsule shot is straight conversion from a1 to jpg with no noise reduction (although you can’t really tell from tiny web image, but I could print w/out edit). Such a fun camera…
Wood stork isn’t the prettiest bird by a longshot, but when the sun hits those black feathers at the right angle just wow!
Firmware update of A1 complete. Good to see the recall bug was fixed. Didn't notice any other differences.
Gore warning.
New shots with the updated firmware:

Tried video on the A1 for one of the first times. Took some 8k video of the kill and my imac quicktime player can't even play it. Got some 4k slomo of the feeding and at least I can play that back on the imac.
It was a pleasure to meet fellow FMer Laslo in person at Conowingo today. Saw several fishing episodes, missed a few really close ones because we were at the wrong angle.
This immature eagle was quite close, the diving shots were just cropped a little bit, the touchdown and the fishing shots were cropped away about 3/4, I failed to keep the eagle near the center of the frame, it was at the upper right corner of the frames and the wings were clipped. Too bad he was flying away from us after grabbing the fish.
