It was a pleasure to meet fellow FMer Laslo in person at Conowingo today. Saw several fishing episodes, missed a few really close ones because we were at the wrong angle.
This immature eagle was quite close, the diving shots were just cropped a little bit, the touchdown and the fishing shots were cropped away about 3/4, I failed to keep the eagle near the center of the frame, it was at the upper right corner of the frames and the wings were clipped. Too bad he was flying away from us after grabbing the fish.
Very nice photos Doug. It was a pleasure meeting you also.
Very nice Douglas. Here are my 2 favorites from a quick culling I did of my shots. I only took about 350 photos and deleted most of the ones in the sky except for a handful.
Here is a series of 3 photos I took yesterday at Conowingo, less than 1 second apart with the A1 and 200-600 lens. I could not do this with my old Nikon D70.

I am willing to bet this is the exact same bird. Look like you were closer to the action than I was

Very nice Laslo! Even though we stood at the same spot and used the same camera to photograph the same eagle dive, I didn't get one like your first one showing the eagle grabbing the fish by the head, and I was already at 30 FPS.
