One thing I'm loving about the workflow using CFE-A cards is I don't bother using aps-c at all anymore, I just rip away in FF which makes tracking/panning and finding the target so much easier for me. So freaking happy with this camera except the EVF thing, but we'll get that worked out.
"except the EVF thing" - I'm sure this was discussed. Unfortunately I didn't get time to go through each thread (Too many things going one). What was it? As I understand , 240 refresh rate is not available for ES. Does the .91x magnification work?

few from me, all cropped to some degree, so hard to get close here in the UK
Beauties Howard. If I didn't need to crop, then I would be happy with 24MP A9II. So cropping is a big part of why I bought an A1. Although, now after using a Sony camera without all the interface lag and using this beautiful EVF, I'd have a hard time going back to my A9II even if I didn't have to crop.

Awesome shots. Looks like BEAF worked with Shoveler shot.
Thanks. I'm not sure if it did activate or not on that sequence. I can check the RAW in A7Info and it indicates if Eye-AF was active at time of exposure. Probably just the good old reliable Zone AF caught the right part.

Geoff - very nice. Looks like the 200-600 also performs very well for you. Can you let us know how it works wit the 1.4x teleconverter?
So far it has been working well with the 2-6/1.4. I've only been struggling with the 600/2x. I thought maybe my 2x was a little off but I tested a friend's 2x yesterday and they gave very similar images.
I'm actually liking to just shoot the bare 600GM and cropping even if I'm cropping all the way to a 600/2x FOV or further into what I would have cropped into a 600/2x FOV.
I'm going to be doing some controlled testing of the TCs. Every time I do controlled testing of TCs I usually find that there isn't much benefit from them. But that never translates to me stopping to use them

Thank you for all the help and information you provide on this forum. Much more useful than most of the YouTube stuff

thanks, much appreciated.
speed and crop-ability amongst other things, whats not to love.
So glad Sony followed your (mostly) pre release wish list😁😁😁
Sublime images.
Truly stunning, all of them.
Such a great variety of birds of all kinds in your neck of the woods.
Even Hummingbirds this time of year.
If your photography skill set doesn’t do justice to those birds, nothing else will.
My favorites are the wonderful images of the little song birds, presumably in your backyard.
Tack sharp and exquisite detail, wonderful light and colors.
Thanks again.
A couple from today. Our resident pair of Trumpeter Swans showed up to hang out with the migratory Tundra Swans.
And a harrier.
PS, BEAF picked up the Harrier as soon as it looked up (since they are always looking down). No BEAF on the trumpeters, their eyes are hard to pick out anyway. The Tundra Swans have that little bit of yellow in front of the eye and it works better.
I noticed last night on the great blue herron that BEAF picked up on it instantly when it was standing, but wouldn't pick up when it was flying. Mergansers behaved the same for me at least swimming vs flying.
Welcome to FM. To get your Flickr image to show here you need to copy the BBC code. Click the Share arrow to the bottom right of your photo and it should have the BBC tab on the far right. Copy that code and paste it into your post here. Then the image will show.
Two from today at the Conowingo Dam, sorry but they are birds. It was kind of quiet there this morning with not a lot of activity. Overall I was pretty happy with how the 200-600mm was working on the A1 vs my A7R4. Not having used a A9 or A9II, this felt like a big change in autofocus vs the A7Riv. I was very pleased with the 200-600mm today. If it missed, it was my lousy tracking ability, not the camera.
