The images from the 35i look nearly identical to what I've seen out of the RX1R2. Sharpness, OOF rendering, contrasty...only thing missing are the vibrant Zeiss colors. Wonder if I can selectively use the color wheel to match the 35i to the colors of the RX1, 24 GM, 35 GM... If not the color wheel, maybe Cobalt and presets...

Lens looks too good to be true for $650.
It’s a great lens—perfect mid-speed and mid-priced option. As you say, no Zeiss colors and contrast, and you get a fair amount of swirl with mechanical vignetting more than the RX1 Sonnar, but you also get better axial and lateral CA, no onion rings and a night and day difference with ergo and usability. Can’t wait for more Sigma I lenses.
I never use the lens colors—always my own and other presets
Interesting! I prefer to leave the colors from my Zeiss and CV lenses untouched for the most part - easier post processing, and I figure if I'm paying for the brand name, might as well keep their (beautiful) color signature.

I always find lenses with great color resolution hold better whether you work with the files heavily or not. My Zeiss, Pentax, CV (newer--older CV lenses are bad IMO) and older Leica's (I haven't shot many of the new Leica's), and some Sony lenses (GM's) are great with deep rich color. I find others, like the Samyang lenses, the colors are harder to work with--they quickly take on a plasticy, HDR digital feel when pushed and I don't find the native lenses palate that nice. I also find if you leave the colors very close to as is, one is mostly relying on the camera/lens combo and images lack much of an individual touch or artistry, but that is also highly preferential.
All the pictures in this thread looks really nice!
I have a Panasonic S5 with the Panasonic 20-60mm and the Sigma 35mm F2. I haven't been using the 35mm too much, and I'm tempted by the 24mm because of the size. Don't know if I should buy it. haha.

@nehemiahphoto@ I'm glad you managed to get the two girls, the ocean, and the wind to pose for you while creating that vertical panorama :P
