Did you by any chance get a side by side comparison in terms of size of these two lenses? Or is there one already around? Thanks!
No, my voigtlander was packed in the box already and I didn't have time to take it out to compare with the Sigma, but I think they are pretty much the same in size, the Voigt felt heavier as I remember.

Funny, I've been contemplating picking up the Sigma 35f2 but keeping my CV 35 1.2 SE. I originally was going to sell it and have the GM pull double duty. But the Sigma looks good enough for everyday stuff for sure (and more compact) and when I want fast and the CV look I'll have it. Hmmmmm.
I may buy the CV 35 APO when the price drops to $800. It won't take long...
The 50 is going for $1049 in the US right now, are you expecting the 35 to be a dud? I know there are sales every once in a while, but a drop of $250 seems pretty steep.

he probably meant used price. I got my 50 APO for 700ish for a like new. I'm probably going to wait for a similar deal for the 35 APO.

No, Tim, I meant used price. I expect the APO to be perfect, but I paid full price for several voigtlanders, they don’t seem to keep their value well. I bought the 40mm f1.2 for $1100, now it sells for around $600-650 on FM now. Same thing with the 35 f1.2, the 65 f2, based on my observation anyway.
I am not sure if this picture is the correct representation of these two lenses, in person I think they are taller than what they look in this picture. I do feel they are similar in size but not in weight, of course the Voigt is f1.2.

Well, here's another perspective: (Left to right) Sigma 35mm f/2 DG DN, Sigma 45mm f/2.8 DG DN, Sigma 65mm f/2 DG DN, Sony 24mm f/1.4 GM.
Ah Ok. I've only bought one Voigtlander used, and that was ages ago (actually made out on that deal...CV 125.) I haven't sold one yet, but that's good to know though.

As much as Voigtlander lenses are praised here, they have the worst resale, even worse than cheap plastic lenses from Rokinon/Samyang that are almost always heavily discounted shortly after release. I have 50/1.2 and i am not planning to sell it, but i know i will lose the most money on it.
35 APO is not as high on my list as GM and Sigma and knowing how quickly value on Voigtlander lenses decline, I definitely won't buy it new.
I purchased several Voigtlander lenses and all of them are used one.
But APO is slightly different trend, not quickly price down as others.
I purchased new 50mm APO for the first time.

I agree completely that resale on Voigtlander is bad, almost as bad as Loxia. I am really surprised by that especially when lenses like the Sony 20mm f1.8 seem to hold value so well.
Could be wrong, but my gut tells me this is an AF/MF thing. The market for a MF lens is smaller than for an AF lens.

Well, the MF crowd is getting smaller by the day. And now with the Sigma I series, I think it will get worse. So it will be much harder for a seller to move his CV.

Well, I personally think the Loxia line's MSRP is over-priced to begin with, while the Voigtlander' MSPR isn't bad at all for the quality/aperture of their lenses, they just suck big time in resale. I agree with Tim, it may be because of the AF/MF thing, and also the rapidly increasing options from Sony and Sigma, AND from Voigtlander ITSELF.
Thank you very much for the review - pretty impressive lens indeed.
How does it compare with the Loxia 35/2? I’m divided between the two at this point.
