just had a look at prices for a canon 400 f2.8 on the canon aust website $17,999 the same lens in the us is only $9600 with gst and dilvery costs go figure. I guess canon aust must buy fromthe states

Do you think the street prices would be same or a few dollars less?

Ali, There's too much blown out area in the first one, but the second one isn't too bad. Cross processing works best when the subject has lots of colours - the buddhist festival might have been a good subject.

Street prices in some asian countries can beat B&H by a significant margin... if you can speak the language. Otherwise you're stuck with the tourist prices...

About how much it costs me to print APS with my p&s

Have you tried shooting this scene digitally and running a cross processing action against it? It would be interesting to see how it compares.

Nice shots there Chris .Particulary like the Brett Stevens wheely . I went out there on the Friday night .Tricky shooting out there as unless your on the inside of the fence you can't get the cars at a very good angle without the walls cutting in on your shots . I love walking through the pits at these meets though as the Brays , Brett Stevens and co have some awesome gear and you can get up nice and close .Heres one i shot that turned out so so . 300 D 70-200

Top shots guys!!! I'm not a terrible fan of drags but I guess there's plenty of photo opportunities. Do they restrict the average Joe to wander in with their long lenses? Coz I've heard Avesco (sp?) do that for their V8 Super Taxi races....

It's the same guy that was selling it for (uh, whatever he wanted for it) a while ago. If I sell a kidney I could probably raise that much.
