f18, 30 sec, ISO100 and Cokin P120 graduated filter on the top left corner so the street light doesn't blow up.
I think we need to have another night outing ... somewhere that's not Darling Harbour.
-------------------------
On another note... another dilemma...
With the 17-40L being F4, I need something that's 2,8... so rather than going to 16-35L, I'm thinking of a "cheaper" way of getting to 2,8 with prime lenses. Any opinion on the 20mm f2,8 and 24mm f2,8? 24mm isn't that wide which is my only fear with the 24mm since I have covered the 28mm with the Tamron and that is not wide enough for motor show use.
I see this one mainly for landscape and motor show use as far as I can see... Probably another one I am more likely to buy is a fishy lens.. probably the Sigma 15mm f2,8 but to de-fish a hundred or so photos = not fun.
Looks good overall. 1st one still the best but I like the #5. I've found using a high ISO + B&W takes out that "ugliness" of noise and make noise a friend.
G&V must have more than $100k in stock lining their shelves upstairs. I don't think they move very much of it, considering that there are 3 or 4 other shops in the viscinity, and they're all cheaper.
I think there must be a mafia working upstairs. There's even an office there! hahaha!
Btw, any one have any opinions on the prime lenses above? 20mm? 24mm? I think I could live with 24mm since I have taken shots at the motor show with a Sony which only get to 38mm wide.
I can't help you with wide primes Smelly, but the last time I was in G&V I went in for a couple of rolls of Velvia and some salesman tried to presure me into buying a 400mm L prime (could have been the f/5.6, not sure now)
A bit weird... speaking of which.. thinking of offloading my 100-400 which I think now is a luxury item at the moment.. unless I find some motorsports to do.

Top shots guys!!! I'm not a terrible fan of drags but I guess there's plenty of photo opportunities. Do they restrict the average Joe to wander in with their long lenses? Coz I've heard Avesco (sp?) do that for their V8 Super Taxi races....
Thanks. As far as I know there is no restrictions at v8 supercars. At F1 and Australian open you can't use anything longer than 200mm.

Nice shots there Chris .Particulary like the Brett Stevens wheely . I went out there on the Friday night .Tricky shooting out there as unless your on the inside of the fence you can't get the cars at a very good angle without the walls cutting in on your shots . I love walking through the pits at these meets though as the Brays , Brett Stevens and co have some awesome gear and you can get up nice and close .Heres one i shot that turned out so so . 300 D 70-200
Thanks. I didn't wonder around too much as the crowds were huge on Saturday night. I got there about 7pm and almost froze to death with only a light jacket. I also forgot my earplugs, that's why I only got one shot of the top fueller! haha
rwwlee shots 1,2 and 3 are great . Particulary 1 .
Chris i may be going out to Eastern Creek on Saturday . I don't really want to go on Sunday as i image it will be pretty packed . I went out there about a month ago for the Aus Superbike round. Great fun .I found the bikes are a lot more interesting to shoot than cars but i've never been to the Supercars , so i'm interested in checking them out .
