Here is a photo of tonights sunset taken about 5 mins walk from my place at the back of Glenmore park. The area is currently bush and an old quarry turned into farmland, this land is the next extention of Glenmore Park. Shame to see it go but think it is part of Bob Carrs vision to have the entire Sydney basin in housing

looks like it will be two hours before dawn tonight. I'm searching "Eta Aquarid meteor shower" in google right now.
Chris, I heard something about it from my gf who read it in the Chinese papers... thanks for the tip on the search. I found Aquarid but didn't realise it was it.

OK, details if you don't want to see from the way I see it.
At 4am, it'd be around 30° above the eastern horizon
Thanks for the link. I had a look outside now and there is a bit of cloud about, but I'll take a chance a set the alarm.
I remember seeing Halleys Comet when I was in the Blue Mountains in the mid eighties. It was a disappointment though as you could barely make it out even with a telescope or binoculars.

Looks like a magic place especially at that time of the day. Well done.
Good to see you are still shooting film. Would you believe I've never shot a sunrise in Sydney! I've done a few when I've been on holidays in Qld and such but never in my home town haha.
