If you're willing to camp out in a field somewhere, it'd probably be worthwhile. Too little notice for me, unfortunately.

Here is a photo of tonights sunset taken about 5 mins walk from my place at the back of Glenmore park. The area is currently bush and an old quarry turned into farmland, this land is the next extention of Glenmore Park. Shame to see it go but think it is part of Bob Carrs vision to have the entire Sydney basin in housing

very nice!

I got my 6x4.5 rolls from palm beach back today. Some of them are pretty nice so I'll scan and post them.

I'll let you know if/when I receive it.

I got the card today - it was sent in from HK. 8 day turnaround. Not too bad, I guess.

Chris, I heard something about it from my gf who read it in the Chinese papers... thanks for the tip on the search. I found Aquarid but didn't realise it was it.

If you want the things highlighted thx to Google.

Why camp out?

I don't know exactly where it park myself... there's no where close that I can sit and watch ENE.....

OK, details if you don't want to see from the way I see it.

At 4am, it'd be around 30° above the eastern horizon

Thanks for the link. I had a look outside now and there is a bit of cloud about, but I'll take a chance a set the alarm.

I remember seeing Halleys Comet when I was in the Blue Mountains in the mid eighties. It was a disappointment though as you could barely make it out even with a telescope or binoculars.

Looks like a magic place especially at that time of the day. Well done.

Good to see you are still shooting film. Would you believe I've never shot a sunrise in Sydney! I've done a few when I've been on holidays in Qld and such but never in my home town haha.

There's a fair bit of cloud cover now from looking outside. Doesn't seem to be a lot of wind as well... not looking good.

Got a friend who asked me about photography. She's a total beginner and wants to find some beginner's site for own reading

Any recommendation?

I've already forwarded Chris's danheller.com site to her

photo.net has a lot of good information in their "learn" section.
photonotes.org has a decent amount of technical material.

Based on my own experience, I find that quite believable!

I got up at 4am and didn't see any meteors. I think there was too much haze and light polution as I could hardly see any stars last night
