Zane, the canon 15mm fisheye. I will be testing the the 300mm f4 this weekend. I will also use the 1.4X and 2X tc with the lens and post results. If i cant get up i will also come along to the dawn service. When using the 2x TC the af does not work oh well. If you want the af to work when using a tc the f-stop must be below f5.6.
What's the 2X like? is it good? 70-200 2.8 + 2X will have AF
Have you done much research on the FE before you bought it? Got any pic of the 15mm on fullframe? Got any 8mm FE on 1.6x body?
Sorry I have'nt been a regular on this thread as I have a lot of irons in the fire at present.
Now to the question I'd say the Aperture would being around f/6.4-f/8 range given the flattening of the background and the lifting and contrast of the speaker's and pole, but we had better not forget about the 1 and 1 1/2 Stops for the converters either. So I'd say the average aperture of these shots was in the order of f/11 or am I way off
I haven't gone back through the thread yet to look at what the travel plans are for the morning of the 25th ,
I think things are still on for the trip up from here and I have even convinced another photog from here to come too I think , I may drive into Parrramatta or Clyde to leave the car at a friends place and train it in if there running at that time of the morning.
yup, good plan, public transport is good for such event. No shooting plan really, just go and see I guess. Good to find out where the parade is, but there's no way I can find it on the web
May get a friend to come along as well. He's the odd one, Konica Minolta man
The aperture was set at wide open f4 and the camera corrects the aperture for 1.4x at f5.6 and 2x at f8. What was interesting about the stacked teleconvertors was the aperture stayed the same as a 2x @ f8, but reduced the speed by half, which makes sense. Sorry I can’t remember the stack order, it could affect the aperture setting.
