Just shop at Coles or Woolies. It all helps in the end. I'm starting to collect them too but I don't pass a good Caltex often enough to use their 98 stuff (I can use 91 if I want but I choose not to... no power!).
Sounds like a big crowd I think.. can't wait really.... need to do more funky shoots.
So who else is coming on the list for Monday? More takers?
1. Zane
2. Greg
3. Ed
4. Chris (after 8)
5. Maurie (trying to make it)
6. Richard
7. Smelly (morning)
I'll give one of you guys a call when i get there, probably be there at 7am. My gf is doing a st johns first aid duty starting at 7am, so i'll be there around that time. You guys will be at martin place still?!?
I was thinking about shooting some ANZAC-Day scenes in the city. What do you suggest?
Cheers
Peter Finlay
PS Have a look at some of my shots on www.northsidecreativephotography.org.au in the galleries and in www.warbirdz.net.au search database/photographer/Peter Finlay.
At the moment (for me) we're starting early to take photos of the morning ceremony in Martin Place. There's also the parades to do which I think there'll be plenty of great photo opportunities.
Just got my new toys 300mm f4, fisheye 15mm and a 1.4 tc. I love the fisheye really nice barrelling effect on a film camera. But as a wide angle lens for digital not bad the distortion can be fixed. Here is an example of one not fixed and i will post a fixed one later.
You are the same Peter Finlay as the Peter Finlay at Northside!! I've been to Northside a few times last year, met you, Susan, Patrick and the Auyeung couple. I don't go now because it's a bit too much for me to come twice a month to Lindfield after work (I live in Bexley North). I start going to St George now. Both are great clubs, but you guys have better and more regular outings and a better website (however, can't find your pictures. The warbirdz link doesnt work)
On the Anzac Day, I will get out early with Ed and Smelly for the Dawn Service and will be shooting parades in the city (9-12). However, we don't really know the route of the parade, but I think we will find out in that morning. Pls come join us if you can.

I'd say the marshalling area will be on Elizabeth St, with the parade going down George St. As you said, we'd have to look around to find out, though.
Zane, the canon 15mm fisheye. I will be testing the the 300mm f4 this weekend. I will also use the 1.4X and 2X tc with the lens and post results. If i cant get up i will also come along to the dawn service. When using the 2x TC the af does not work oh well. If you want the af to work when using a tc the f-stop must be below f5.6.
Zane showed those photos to Ed one lunch time. It was a compilation of all the phone booths Zane took in different countries/cities during our honeymoon trip. Ask Zane to show them to you next time. : )
Yeah, it's a book that's chock full of photos of phone booths, and Nicole in phone booths. If I didn't know better, I'd have thought that Zane had some kind of phone booth fetish!
