They are still advertising it for $1199!! it must be expensive to keep Mick there.

Is that so bad? They are listing for $3,200 and up in traditional stores/closer to $2,500 from the eBay vultures. Is is in *that* bad a condition?

I'm outta tmx so I might swing by there Friday and check it out while I am there,

It's not the IS version - if it was the price tag would be over $2k, battered or not.

I've never been caught speeding here in NSW. I usually keep to the speed limit, although there was one occassion when i was in a hurry to get somewhere, i got caught. Told the cop i was a doctor, in a hurry to get to the hospital, still couldn't escape the fine. That was in adelaide.

Has any body got access to something like Pocket whizard flash drive or similar .
Reason artsy shots in the dark illuminating the inside of a balloon as it is being inflated. and so on .
I'll be using some 1600 ISO Production Colour if I can get it.

I'm looking forward to Next week I'd say that the Sunday or monday morning would be the best with supposedly less crowds.

Be perpared for 10 Deg and less as well go to my web to check what the temp is in Canberra the morning your coming.

It's a remote triggering device for flashes. The canon equivalent is the ST-E2, which I have, but the ST-E2 is a line-of-sight device whereas pocketwizards are radio controlled.

Spot on Ed yeah I could use a remote lead on 1 flash and place it out of frame and on the ground to trigger the SU-4 Slave Strobe trigger but that is messy and not TTL .

Oh well we'll see won't we nessesity is the mother of invention so they say .

OK School Run BRB

Righto I'm back , Hey I just had a look at the Pocket Wizard Web Site and I can get it built into my D1H, interesting.

Unless there's a do-it-yourself kit, you'd have to send your camera away.

I bet you could still use my ST-E2 and flash as long as you're close enough. No wires then. You'd lose an on-camera flash, though.

Autumn leaves would be good.

Would you guys bring your partnet along? I personally find gf/wife are not generally compatible with "photography". They could make good sujbects, but they get sick of you pointing your camera at them! :P They also complain about the money you spend on gear, i'm sure it's the same with you guys?

Snowy Mountains Mate 160 K's South of Canberra.

And yes I'll do that.
From the end of March on in places there will be Leaves turning colour and the Corrin forrest area of the ACT can be beautifull at this time with a lot of the intrduced european trees turning various shades of rust gold, browns, reds yellows etc Vunderbar.

Now the Pocket wizard inside for the Nikon is by the look of it only available in the US . That is unless your willing to post or freight the body over and back , NOT Oh well maybe I can buy the kit and fit it myself.
Zane don't be a grouch , get out and experiment with your flash photography and enjoy.

As for the Gear my other half was the one that suggested I get rid of my old stuff and upgrade whil we had funds available to do it .. Go figure

ok, i am no good at flash photography.

I had my 580ex for a few nites, I was experimenting the flash exposure compensation last nite when my wife was watching TV. I was 'told' to turn off the flash - so no flash photography at home

Yes, Richard it's a great flash....

Well, Maurie, my wife is almost convinced by me that buying photo equipment is a good investment because she saw me selling stuff on ebay and i didn't make much loss (well the original value was somewhat understated) But I did sell some used L stuff and made no loss at all....
