No Zane you have your workflow all wrong mate!! you go out shooting night scenes till 12 go have a light feed and then drive out with no traffic and green's all the way. Fall assleep half way to Canberra and scare yourself witless and are fine for the rest of the day.
Besides it is on all week why not make a weekend and shoot in the mountains around Canberra too ..
I could dig up some other things to do over that weekend I think.
Sounds alright Maurie, look like we can do a bit of cruising together apart from photography. What's your record time from Sydney to Canberra? I will see if I can beat it
BTW, I am leaving for Asia on 19/3 for two weeks so this weekend will be no good for me.
I wish I could race but I'd rather leave the speed on a racetrack. Value my license too much and rather pay Canon for a white lens than the NSW consolidated revenue bucket.

Last time we met, I thought we agreed that the D30 is a capable camera. You changed your mind?
No, I'm just being cheeky. It amuses me how a 1960's 'Blad is vintage, but (with regular service) just as useful as the day as it was made, yet so many bits of 5y/o technology are unsuitable for their intended purpose because protocols/software versions/whatever moves on. My beautiful SGI O2 is now a door stop
James "2 points left on my license and now always 5Km/h under the limit" Green.

PS: RSS feed would be helpful !
Dont you worry, my 20D will become a classic in 12 months time if i m lucky. I will be joining you as a man with a classic camera

yes, looks cool, never done hot air balloons before, but it's a 7am event, if we want to get there by 6.30, got to leave Sydney at 3.30am the latest.
Anyone's going to do it?
Good God! 3am start? That's when I get to sleep!
I'm interested if someone can come pick me up, coz there's no way that I'm driving to Canberra at 3am. I'm 2 mins off the M5 at henry lawson drive, and I have a E-Way thingie so the toll is essentially free (cash back, hooray!).

In case anyone is interested...
I was just in at Foto Riesel Camera House on Kent Street, Sydney and noticed they had a second hand L series 70-200mm 2.8 for sale...
it's well used with paint scuff marks all over the barrel, but the glass looks fine and the operation is smooth and appears all perfect internally...
That lens is in pretty bad shape. The hood is partially broken and it's worn all over. There's a reason why it's been sitting in the window for the past two weeks...

They are still advertising it for $1199!! it must be expensive to keep Mick there.
I still got 12 points. Never lost one before! *touchwood*.. almost did though 2 days ago when a cop flashed their headlights at me for doing 67 in a 60 zone.
It looks bad in terms of weather.. dunno if it's good to take photos in the rain though..
I still have 0 and proud of it , you do realise that you start with 0 and accumulate DEMERRIT points not the other way round.
I've been a very good boy for a long time infact the last speeding I got done for was out of townsville for 120 as I was passing a group of cars but hey it was a fair cop, I was exceeding the posted limit and that is as they say that.
