Hey guys, I'd just like to introduce myself. I've been to Sydney before on business, and will be returning in a few weeks for a stay of 3 months. I'm really excited I found this thread as last time I came I wasn't that into photography. I'm looking forward to exploring the city with a camera this time.
Subtle changes all over the place Zane. At my end anyway the fonts used seemed to have changed, smaller but crisper, No I haven't changed my monitor for the fabulous Apple 30" as much as I'd like to. Hope all here have a great years shooting in 2008.
I was planning on shooting the NYE lights but missed out.

Time's up for Harbour Bridge heavyweight

The giant hourglass that spun and flashed on the Harbour Bridge during Sydney's New Year's Eve fireworks display has been significantly damaged by bad weather, forcing its early removal.
Workers will today begin dismantling the 40-tonne object, which has been performing three-minute animated sequences each hour between 8pm and midnight since the beginning of the year.
It was supposed to have remained in place until January 12.
City of Sydney acting chief executive, Garry Harding, said the object's fragile rope lighting had fared badly as a result of recent poor weather.
"More than one million people saw the 'Bridge Effect' on New Year's Eve, and many more Sydneysiders enjoyed the light show over the past six nights," he said.
