What's ridiculous is that I can rock up to a winery with a couple and hang out "like friends" and take a few shots around for a pre-wedding shoot or portrait session without any questions asked most of the time.

As soon as you rock up with a couple wearing a dinner suit and a billowing white dress, you get stares and questions and demanded $$$ of.

like you've all said... Leechers

Hi guys! I have a question for all of you...I'm heading down under for a holiday in a week. I'll be spending time in Port Douglas, Melbourne, and finally Sydney where I'll be attending a wedding aboard a boat floating through Sydney Harbour. One of the things I'd love to do while I'm down there is to get some sunrise/sunset or night shots of the Skylines in Sydney and Melbourne. Can any of you recommend a few good vantage points. This is my first trip to Australia and I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to it!

hi R K A,

for a sydney sunrise you can try blues point - looking east you should get a nice view of the harbour bridge in the morning.

for night shots, try milsons point, mrs macquarie's chair, or even walk along the harbour bridge.

I know that D&D photographics still have about 5 mrk III's in stock...

I decided to wait for the 1Ds III or just pick up a 1Ds II.

Will just have to wait and see how the next few months go money wise.

Chris.

Zane: getting mine from Digital City. been told to expect it at the end of august now...

I know DD's got stock, but their price is inflated above RRP + it doesn't come with local warranty. Don't want to risk it with their own warranty.

I'll buy glass and accessories from them, but not bodies...

One of the many bridges on the Yarra, near the city will give you nice views. Also the bridge that crosses from the city, over the Yarra, to the crown casino is spectacular.

just found out that Digital City is under administration.

And I'm still waiting for my 1D MkIII to arrive...
If it doesn't come, not sure what my chances are that I'll get my deposit refunded....

I think if they have your deposit, I think you'll be those waiting in line like the rest of the creditors to getting their money back.

President? of?? I think going into the restricted area is going to be hard.

In brighter news... 5D rocks! Maybe I'm getting old but taking it out on holidays really spoils the "holiday" experience.

Mockkie, I think you should go and cancel your order, ask your deposit to be refunded before the administrator takes over the business.

What was the 30D RRP when it first came out? is the 40D cheaper?
