yeah interesting article... I think it made an appearance in the Hi Sydney thread sometime last year (maybe 3-400 pages back!), but it looks like it's been updated quite a bit since then.
Hi guys
I am looking at getting a Dry Cabinet as I live in a old federation style house which is a little damp at times.
Has anybody got one and does anybody have any experience with the brand "Wonderful".
Foto Riesel stock them they say that they are great & come with 2yr warranty ?
I have found a source a lot cheaper then them (also with a 2yr warranty) so I am going to get one just wonted to know if anybody had one.
I bought mine from Legend camera services ( www.drycabinet.com.au ). They're the guys that supply Foto Riesel. I've bought two wonderful dry cabinets from them - a big one and a small one.
The small one went to Zane, and somehow in the transfer, a pin that supports the door fell off... so that wasn't too good.
The small cabinet has the same drying unit as the big cabinet, so while the small cabinet could suck water out of a rock in a couple of minutes, the big one is takes a while, and never reaches the same humidity level that I could get out of the small one.
The anti-moisture unit in the dry cabinet is basically a big sack of silica gell and a heater. It heats the gell up every now and again, and the gell then goes and sucks away the moisture in the cabinet. That part works very well.
btw, I remember this being a topic of discussion in this thread, also a couple of hundred pages ago...

Thanks for the link. I went looking for stuff like this a little while back but distinctly Australian information from a verifiable source was hard to come by.
In this regard the law enforcement I don't have a problem with. It's the militant citizen or bored rent-a-cop that scares me.
Yeah... I need one that can store something up to 6 feet long, two feet wide and weighing about 90Kg until I can drive into the bush next week... and no you're not alowed to ask what it is for.
Something I saw on another forum someone here might like...
[QUOTE=kula]My favourite camera is now for sale, we have upgraded to digital and need to sell this system.
It's a Bronica ETRS body, in very good condition. Sure it has a few signs of wear and tear, but still works perfectly. The shutter sounds awesome, the winder works fine and everything is clean.
These cameras are super reliable, and just keep on taking great photos.
My full system was used for the odd magazine shoot, and landscape shots. I hasn't had heaps of usage, and I would trust it for any occasion.
Using a camera like this forces you to slow down and think about the shot a lot more, so its a great learning tool.
The view I have on it is a waist level finder, which I think is the best way to use a camera like this. You can pop out the magnifier and then it works like a traditional finder
the 2 lenses are the standard portrait style general lens, 75mm. Very sharp, easy to use, and f2.8, its a Zenzanon EII
The second is the wide angle 50mm. Also a good sharp lens, again f2.8 Zenzanon MC.
I have 2 backs for it, the standard 645 120 roll film back, with a near new dark slide (i lost the original one) so no leaks at all.
the second back is a Polaroid back. These allow you to take instant 645size polaroid shots, to check exposure and the like before committing the shot to film.
I will also include a nice compact yet solid Lowepro bag, which fits the complete body, the second lens, lot of film and other accesories.
I also have a few rolls of film and polaroid film I'll throw in.
there are both negative and slide film, Fuji Reala, 16 rolls, and 9 rolls of the best Slide film out there, Fuji Provia.

...or I'll keep using my freezer...
Sounds like your dead body when you buy the above camera!

I don't really remember how much. I *think* the small one cost me around $220, and the big one cost me around $310.
I was looking into getting one a while back but forgot all about it . Mainly this time of year i guess when there use is more warrented . Do they make a noise at all ? When it activates to dry the silica ? And how much stuff do you get in the little one ? I only have the 70-200 , 17-40 . Did have a 50mm 1.8 till i dropped it last week . Damn thing shattered . They aren't built very tough . glad it was only a cheapie .
