Hi people
Who knows of a flash cord longer then Canon's Off Camera Shoe Cord 2, 60cm (2ft.),
I been looking at the Canon ST-E2 Speedlight Transmitter but was thinking just a long cord would do the trick.
But all the cords seem to be Not for Digital Cameras.
I am trying to use my 20D with the 580EX flash from 1' to 4' away from the camera any idea or is the Canon ST-E2 ST the only way ?
These guys make cutoms cords to any length you want, expensive though
The 430ex from DigitalRev ebay site at $294 can do the same as the ST-E2 and also gives you a second flash which can be more than useful. I have used this set up with 2 550ex quite successfully
Shame they do not build the ST-E2 feature into the camera
Howdy guys - I got my two new lenses last week - I am very happy with them both, and they both seem to be very sharp. Here are two early shots with them
70-200 F/4 (hand held 200mm @ f/4)
60mm Macro (Hand held @ f/2.8) - a self portrait so a bit hard to compose properly - and yes, I did need some more sleep that day!

Agreed!
Minolta did that years ago with their "prosumer" digicams. Canon are way behind in the features list in a lot of ways, but that's how they make money - you get to buy lots of peripherals to make up for it.
Teon, I'm into the eye shot! Have you thought about using it for desktop wallpaper? I love the detail...
When my winning lotto ticket comes in I'm gonna make a bunch of really large prints from random really small things... now I know it freaks Ed out I want it more than ever
...then of course there will be the sports car and "my bunnies". I'll get around my estate in a velvet robe all day and... Damn. Gotta get back to work
Just like to ask if anyone has any recommendations for a photo lab in Sydney. I'm having lots of issues calibrating screens with prints, and so I want to stick with a lab, preferrably one that can give a little technical help.

This might sound a little lame, but I really like my local (Bondi Junction) Digital City minilab. They have a wide format Epson inkjet for upto A0 I think, plus a fuji frontier.
I quizzed them once and they calibrated their machines often and were able to talk to me about soft-proofing and file specs and the like.

I need to take these pics when it's not so cloudy... headlights blown out and it's impossible (without PSing the heck out of it) to get it back down.
Very nice, Smelly. Cloudy is good - the clouds act as a gigantic softbox. What you should do is bring a tripod, make an exposure for the shiny bits (say, headlights), and combine them in photoshop.
Smelly .That looks like its at Homebush near the tennis centre ?
Has anyone here made one of those pinhole cameras mentioned in Eds post before and used it ? Must admit i haven't been bored enough to go to the trouble to make one but it looks kinda interesting . Lens lust on the cheap
