Yep, broncolor ring flash again. I'm in love :-) but like all good physical relationships my pockets aren't deep enough for anything lasting

Ed: I think it is more to do with the lens than the eyes. exif dutifully reminds me that this was @30mm & f/22 with 17-40. Have to get pretty close to get the catchlight the right size, maybe 15cm or 20cm or so.

While we're at it, something a bit more modest feedback welcome as always.

Zane, maybe get in touch with the nice people at PAPERPLANE Mag I've collected every issue! (it's presently in it's second edition) and I really enjoy it. I don't know why it didn't occur to me earlier to mention it.

James . I like the last shot the best of the two . But i prefer the lighting like you had for the black background shots of your friends about 50 odd pages back . They were spot on . Keep em coming .

Does anyone have templates that add the borders so it looks like photos have been taken on film?

hmm... not sure why, but it doesn't quite look right to me. Maybe it's too clean? The sprocket holes are too closely spaced together?

You could try scanning real film and overlaying the image...

Yeah, they do look a little spaced too close to each other. I'll try scanning film and then go from there. Thx for the tip.

I can scan you some real 35mm strips & send you some if you like. Some astia or provia rebates would look good I think. If you're going to put in a colour image it should be on a reversal border not a neg border

Here's one: Fuji Velvia 100F

Hi people
Who knows of a flash cord longer then Canon's Off Camera Shoe Cord 2, 60cm (2ft.),
I been looking at the Canon ST-E2 Speedlight Transmitter but was thinking just a long cord would do the trick.
But all the cords seem to be Not for Digital Cameras.
I am trying to use my 20D with the 580EX flash from 1' to 4' away from the camera any idea or is the Canon ST-E2 ST the only way ?
Its for fish photography.
Like these two shots of my Endi

Nice photos Billy, good colour

I know this won't work with the 420EX for reasons along the lines that it is E-TTL-only and therefore follows the universal laws of minimum convenience... but maybe a synchro cord and putting your 580EX in manual mode in one of those sync-to-hot-shoe adaptors would be a cheaper choice to the ST-E2.

Good work Billy! Aquarium shots are always hard with that glass there... last shot is good with the reflection of the fish at the base of the aquarium.
