Nicely done Chris. I've wanted to try that long exposure technique for thunder storms for ages now but have always chosen to keep indoors. Good on you for getting out there

Great photos Chris! How did u decide on the exposure at the time, given the duration of the lighting is so variable?
I preselected the f stop at f 11 and then the exposure time was dependant on the lightening, covering the lens in between flashes. The last image with 3 seperate flashes of ligtening was more luck to have 3 strikes in 15 secs. The best strikes were missed either with the camera in the wrong direction or having just closed the shutter at the wrong moment. Probaly could have also used a longer lens to get closer to the strikes but was not interested in changing with the conditions like they were.

Thanks for the comments guys
Richard I do not know about the background, the light to the left seems to drag your attention up and away from the flower. What does it look like with the left side cropped off
Mozzman( Maurice) Thought you maybe interested in this one I am working on for my brother inlaw (any input on improvements appreciated) It is a 120cc 40% scale of a stunt plane The main image is two stitched together just in front of the cowling as I did not manage to get close up one of the entire plane in the 10 minute flight
Nice Shots Hydro The Aircraft would work where it is if it were taken more to the right looking back at the tail like it is coming out of the Frame , otherwise looks great .
I need to know what engine as I have a partially completed Extra of similar size close to 7ft Wingspan,

I wanted him to fly with one wing down but it was comming out of the sun and I kept loosing it , wasnt until it got the hill in the back ground that you could really focus on it but by that time it was in your face. Bit harder than the V8's as every run it was either closer or further away I was just getting the hang of it when the 10 minutes flying time was up. Mike the owner is not too keen to fly it like it was designed for still I think I would be the same as the cost is similar to those level entry 1D Mk2 canon thingies I would be more than crying if it hit the deck.
The engine is a ZDZ from the Czech Republic he brought it from Precision Aerobatics here in Sydney the plane has a nine foot wing span http://rcshowcase.com/html/engines/zdz120B2.html http://www.precisionaerobatics.com/product_item.aspx?prodID=110
These guys are racing at Penrith tommorrow, nice day out picnic lunch on the river bank and no charge to boot. Viewing can be had from both sides of the river

Goes to show what we think is good doesn't apply to an untrained person... and vice versa....
And another one Smelly I think we are being a bit spoiled with the weather at the moment.
