This was in our dubious but local Fairfax community newspaper this week. About the only redeeming feature of this paper is the cheif photographer John Veage who usually gets something impressive in each week...

AMATEUR photographers have the chance to exhibit their work at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery thanks to a Sutherland Shire Council Cultural Grant.
The Friends of Hazelhurst Photographic Exhibition seeks to recognize people the judges believe have captured the essence of life in Sutherland Shire.
Entries must depict snapshots of shire life – people, places and activities – but photographers do not have to reside in the area, nor is the competition only open to adults
All entries will be displayed at the gallery where forms are now available.
Details are available from Marion Jones on 9525 4295.

sweat smelly ... i just sent the organiser a quick email and asked him if possible could i get track access [ as in on the other side of fence] and recieved an email in return he said it should be no prob at all so it's looking good....
The photos are taken by the guy doing the IR conversion on the camera.
This is the text from the email I recieved
The first group were shot on a tripod with the church cornice as a target using just the central AF sensor. At each focal length I shot wide open and at f8. I used my 16-35mm lens to try and simulate how your 17-40 might perform by including images shot at f4.
The next group were shot handheld to give you an idea of how the camera will work with a variety of subjects.
In all cases the images were processed through Photoshop CS using the attached guidelines except for the use of auto levels in place of a curves adjustment to ease automation.
In general I am very pleased with the cameras performance. As expected there is some front focusing at the widest angles but this can be tamed by stopping down. If I adjusted AF accuracy to reduce the front focusing it would generate more back focusing with the longer lenses.
Let me know if the camera meets your needs set up this way."

Yeah, a very interesting lens... there are a couple of threads about it in the canon forum... mainly idle speculation, since no-one really knows any more about the lens than anyone else.

Kodak HIE is a bit grainy, but not too bad. The results of IR film are a bit odd to begin with, though, so grain probably isn't something to worry about anyway.
