A portrait I took of Irish actor Sam Lucas Smith. Not the Sam Smith you were expecting? :P
Sam hired me for headshots last year, but after our shoot he requested that I take a portrait of him in my personal "artistic" style, (ie: Tacky Sexy Man Portraits), which ended up being this shot. The shoot was a couple of weeks before the initial Covid-19 lockdowns last year in March. I wanted to collaborate with Sam for a few other personal projects and we were both really looking forward to doing so, but due to the unforeseen impact of Covid-19 on the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, I had to move back to Portland with family and had to put any plans of working with Sam again on hold. Hopefully it will happen again once things feel safe again and I move back to LA.
Lit with a single Neewer C300 strobe with a soft box and a silver reflector. Shot using the original Canon 5D with a Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens attached, set to f/11, 1/100th sec, ISO 100.
Covid has been a b*tch. My gear is gathering dust. The cats have forbidden me from taking any more pics of them, period.
Nice portrait, btw, so serious.

It's been rough. Yeah I imagine most cats would lose their patience with a photo shoot pretty quickly lol. Thank you.
(side note, it's surreal how there's tangible hope of ending this pandemic in the near future. I got my 2 shots of the Pfizer vaccine, can't tell you how much of a relief it is. hoping that everyone else can get access to immunization soon)
