A portrait I took of Irish actor Sam Lucas Smith. Not the Sam Smith you were expecting? :P
Sam hired me for headshots last year, but then during our shoot he also requested that I take a portrait of him in my personal "artistic" style, ie: Tacky Sexy Man Portraits (I added Tacky because someone here in the forum said my work is tacky, so there you go). These were taken a couple of weeks before the initial Covid-19 lockdowns last year in March. I wanted to collaborate with Sam for a few other personal projects and we were both really looking forward to doing so, but due to the unforeseen impact of Covid-19 on the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, I had to move back to Portland with family and had to put any plans of working with Sam again on hold. Hopefully it will happen again once things feel safe again and I move back to LA.
Lit with a single Neewer C300 strobe with a soft box and a silver reflector. Shot using the original Canon 5D with a Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens attached, set to f/11, 1/100th sec, ISO 100.
