Due to the pandemic, I ended up sprucing up the front and the backyards. Several months ago, I bought some new plants and Cape Honeysuckle was one of them to attract hummingbirds. A few days ago the flowers started to bloom and I noticed a visitor. So, the following morning I setup my camera and to make a long story short here are a few images from several visits. It looks like a female Anna's hummingbird. So far, that's the only visitor. I would like to see others, at least, the male Anna's hummingbird. But in the meantime, we have to put up with images of this gal...
I used a reflector to direct some more light and it didn't bother the hummer at all. I also used a short extension tube to get a more frame filling magnification of the hummer.
Thank you for visiting and please feel free to leave any feedback,
Joshua

#4 is amazing! A little bit of fine tuning to your setup and you won’t have to go to Costa Rica or Ecuador anymore!
Thank you very much, Bobby! Too bad the number and variety of hummingbirds here locally is not even close to that in both CR and Ecuador. And the local hummers look... well, plain, at least most of them. The male Anna’s has a more colorful throat, similar to what we see in Costa Rica. I will be on the lookout for that guy in the next several days and I am crossing my fingers.
