These are settings I'd use - not necessarily the perfect ones. Focus on the person in front, center.
Are all 4 people standing in 1 row (same focal plane)?
- Yes - f/5.6 to f/8 and increase ISO or use flash if light is low
- No - f/8 to f/11 and increase ISO or use flash if light is low

Isnt f/5.6 too small ? I was thinking f/1.4 or max f/2.8
Depends on your focal length and distance to subject.
If you're shooting wide to medium wide and all subjects are in same focal plane, perhaps you may be ok with 1.4 or 2.8.
I shoot portraits zoomed in as I like the compression.
This is 170mm and even at f/4, the girl is barely in focus while the dad is in focus. Click to view image

I thought the thread is of the 50mm 1.2 Nikon lens

I don't know how I managed to shoot at f1.3. Mystery of Z
It's a Nikon mystery, not just Z. Nikon cameras (and lenses) display the effective relative aperture. The relative aperture is the size of the image of the iris relative to the focal length, and thus may differ from the size of the iris relative to the focal length.
At Nikon Thailand Zf launch event. Shot wide opened.
I like the drama, theatricality, tradition, and mood that Nikon Thailand set up for the event. Quite different from what I see from images taken in such events in the US. I have never attended any of those, so my exposure is limited.

Luka
This was a lot of fun. I usually attend may be one or two events each year organized by Nikon.
We don't always get this level of elaborated set up in the past. However, I think Nikon is doing
well and once, Nikon Thailand VP told me that now their annual budget for local Nikon event is
quite a bit larger than in the past, they are able to do more.
I hope Nikon continues to do well as I really enjoy these events.
