I've been waiting on this thread. I'm the type of 50'ies junkie that would buy into a camera system just because of the quality of the 50/1.2 glass :-) Keep'em coming, folks!

I forgot how much I loved this lens

I have one too and it is kinda cool, but it's not the Z 50S lens they're asking about in this thread .
Thanks everyone. I think this is going to be a fun lens. It is quite big but manageable and next to Noct Nikkkor 58/.95, quite a bit lighter. I plan to make some comparison when I go on a short trip next week if there is no Covid surprise locally here

Wow, impressive, VERY impressive! Curious if these were from a Z6 or Z7, and around what ISO?
It is on Z7 ii.
The first picture is iso 64., 2nd is iso 1600, 3rd iso 280, 4th iso 280, 5th iso 720

How would you rate between the 50 F1.2 vs. the Noct?
I have the Noct coming next week, Z7II delayed until later as only kit stock came in. Wondering if I should get the F1.2 for the heck of it.
Tough call. I will try to compare them but taking out both Noct and 50/1.2S together is going to be a major pain.
50/1.2S is definitely more convenient with AF and lighter and smaller size. Noct is definitely not 4x better according to price
but personally, of all the 0.95-f1.2 lenses that are in the same price range as Noct Nikkor, I still like Noct Nikkor the best and actually sold my Noctilux 50/.95 and Hexanon 60/1.2 already. Noctilux 50/1 is still of some interest to me
as I think its rendering is very special and much more suitable to photographs some of my friends who are sitll very concerned about their aging face
Re vignetting and cat eyes, the 50/1.2 S has a front element 50% larger than the bare minimum. I measured off product photos. In contrast, the old Ai-S 50/1.2 exceeds the minimum by just 5%.
The 50mm f1.2 is a biogon design with symmetric arrangement before and after aperture. A very rare standard lens design approach. The designer is a fan of biogon and claim there is no way to design something like this without that huge Z Mount.
The render looks clean and nice. I prefer 58 ‘s look. From DOF point of view, 58mm at f1.4 will give about the same blur as 50mm at 1.2. The new one is for sure way sharper with better color correction. Congratulation to OP.
Here are a few more shots from tonight. This is really a lot of fun. I guess I am so used to lugging around Noct Nikkor 58/.95 or Fuji GFX100 so I am not too bother by the size of this lens
All shot at f1.2 with Z7 ii, adjusted in ACR only, no sharpening added.
