I love this image and the lighting is an interesting choice - to me it works really well, highlighting the bone structure and suggesting there is something to hide. Also, love the incorporation of objects with meaning.
Great shot of yourself. I've always liked this style of lighting especially when used for portraits of men - which lends an air of masculinity to the subject. I saw a shot of Jeff Bridges a long time ago using similar light and it really caught my eye.

Thank you. One thing I like about this sort of lighting is its ability to illustrate human duality. Everyone has a light and a dark side.

Thank you. The joke is on the viewer though; I'm pretty far from being what society considers masculine, but this isn't to say I'm not happy about that.

I certainly hope my comment wasn't offensive to you - I meant none whatsoever - my comment was strictly about the lighting style.
