I took this photo of my lovely wife in a corner of her bedroom back in 1977. She bought her "wedding gown" in a local department store. Light would have been from a full length window to her right. Camera would have been a Pentax SP500 and probably a Super-Takumar 50 1.8. We didn't have a wedding photographer so this is the only portrait I have of her from our wedding day. To me it's enough.
Gary, that’s not only a very lovely image of your wife but the story behind that adds a lot to the beauty of that image. That image definitely earns my V!

Thank you all ! Not too bad for a 21 year old kid with no clue I remember using my federal tax return to buy that Pentax. It cost $150 with a leather case and the 50 1.8. Though for some reason I'm thinking it was a 55 1.8. I showed it to my grandmother and told her how much it cost. She nearly fell out of her rocker. It was incomprehensible to her that I would spend $150 on a camera.

Gary, since you still remembered the price of the camera/lens combo, out of curiosity, did you or did your wife remember how much she paid for the wedding gown?

She bought it at Casual Corner for around $100 which was actually fairly expensive for a dress in those days. We had a very typical low budget wedding. An American Legion hall, all our relatives prepared and brought in food, a live band. two night honeymoon in Niagara Falls. If anyone from Buffalo is listening in they may remember the Billy Brite Band from those days. I have to admit it was epic, my relatives remarked on the fun they had for years after I have maybe about 6 or 7 photos from that day and we treasure them even more than a magnificent album.
