And a comparison with another modern-made single-coated lens the LLL '1966' (both at f/2.8)...LLL is in color, so not a perfect comparison, but you can see that it flares more.

I tried willing my example photograph into this post, but it didn’t work: With the MC version, and with the Sun low and set in or near the frame, you might find rainbow flare streaks (I count 11 below the horizon) seemingly paying homage to early pride parades despite the even greater degree of adversity back in those “vintage” days than now. Sometimes a wash of deep magenta will inhabit part of the rainbow, but it doesn’t really matter who was wearing it so long as it works, right?

Come to think of it, that could be an M10-R feature. I saw that with my Elmar-M once, too, but never any of my film Ms.

Finally got around to ordering a Taab for my 50/1.5. Hope that I like it. The picture of yours with the tab inspired me.
Worst part is getting it on! From the lens mount I basically rolled it on. But once on it is so much better than the thin, sharply serrated focus ring.

This is a lens I've been looking for a long time. I really loved the earlier 50mm f/1.5 back before I switched to 40mm f/1.2 Nokton. As I'm getting back to using Fujifilm after using only Sony for almost 5 years now, this could become my tiny nifty-fifty with Sony - and a wonderful portrait option for Fuji to pair it up with the native CV 23mm f/1.2. Just ordered the X-T30 II to be my fun little "pocket camera".
Anyone tried this with Fujifilm crop sensor yet? I know there is the native 50mm f/1.2 as well for Fuji, but I'm just not a huge fan of it's mushy-glowy rendering with a bit too "retro" bokeh for my taste. Plus it wouldn't work with my Sony.

I am not using much of the 50mm FL but this tiny lens is such a joy to use when it does comes out to play.
** I also added a tab on this lens, now I am not blind anymore and can pre focus faster.

Which lens hood do you use on your 1.5 II (examples from monted on the lens?)?
I'm currently considering the Leica Q-like ones from Tahusa. But a small, sleek one like the new 50mm 2.2 would also be great. Ideally, one that also covers the shiny chrome ring on the side.
Leica M5, Voigtlander 50mm f/1.5 II SC (all at f/1.5 or f/2), Fomapan 100, Xtol 1:1
This lens is so strikingly sharp at medium distances.
Everyone talks about film and how good it is, but i mostly see dull images, badly developed, digital grain, etc, etc..
I just passed through your flickr and man..... it makes me want to shoot film again, beautiful images. Whenever someone says film is dead i will give them your flickr profile

Does anyone use the Nokton 1.5 50 ii with the Techart AF adapter and can say something about how they work together? Does the AF also work reliably outside the center of the image?
