the red stars are our locations...
the blue circle is pretty much a central location for most...
Now, as far as choosing somewhere within that circle or close to it, the only place I can think of that might be of photographic potential is Eureka Springs Ar. It is a tourist town with lots of potential and a night life for those that may want to make a weekend of it. The have alot of old style, historic home,
lots of architecture, trails, lookouts, ect.. I have actually got pics of wild deer in the middle of town during the day. All modern businesses (McDonalds, subway, motels, pizza places ect) are not allowed to be in the downtown area because they want it to stay historic looking.. There transit
system (for sightseers is by trolleys and they also have horse and carriage tours of the town. Live music on the streets and in Basin Park,
They have a chapel (Thorncrown Chapel) that is made of mostly glass, 48ft tall and over 6000 sq ft of glass it is astounding to see (pic below) Quigley's Mansion, Cresent Hotel (supposed to be haunted),
The have Beaver Lake and Beaver Dam close by too..
Here are just a few pics I grabbed off the net and links to some sites we can think about visiting and shooting..
This is just a few things that Eureka Springs offers... check out the links and let me know what ya think.... oh, and spouses are welcome to come too if they want...
I am up for wherever we meet at. Would we all be staying in a hotel or not? I drive to Shreveport, La every 2 weekd so I am up for just about anything.

I'm not sure about the others, but we will probably stay the night, make a weekend of it... I guess it's really up to the individual.... We usually stay at the Trade Winds, it's really close to downtown and on the main highway. We know a few of the motel owners and cottage owners in Eureka and can suggest a place if anyone needs to find a place...
That sounds good to me,but May 15 on I willnot be available. My wife is having a baby in the Middle of May, so I could only do it before the 15. Thank you.
I might be able to make it. I see my son bought a lens you had for sale.
I'm in Knob Nster, Missouri...that's about 60 miles east of Kansas City. It's home of the B2 Stealth Bomber.
I'll pay the 12.00 for an all day!! depending on how many are interested in this and want to shot some cats... I'll check on their group rates.... 12.00 a head ain't too bad considering the cost of caring for these beautiful cats....
Soooo.. what date does everyone want from the list above?? list the dates from above that you are willing to meet and we can choose the most comon date amungst all that want to go....
Ok, I talked to Scott from Turpentine Creek http://www.turpentinecreek.org/photo1.htm and he said that his normal private shoot rate is 100.00 per hour per person .. .. depending on how many go, he will work with us on the fees (5 or more) ... He also said that it would be best to go the latter part of April, foliage will be better .. they have 46 cats in total and the private shoot will be in open area, natural background... the 12.00 all day is "caged" shots...
I might make a trip down there just to see the settings and the cats...
He sounded like he is willing to work with us to make this a good meet and get some awesome pics in the process....

Rod
Rod, that would be great if you could join us. Your son and I talked for about 30 minutes about all of your gear. . Maybe you could donate one of your Canon 24-70 f/2.8L's to me. . Consider it as a tax write-off.
Anyways, come and join our group. I am no pro like you guys, just wanna take good pictures of my coming baby. So, you guys could probably teach me a few things.
Looks like April 30th is the date..... still not sure on the private wildlife shoot.. no one is responding... sooo.. we will leave that in the air for now...
We ( my wife and I ) will probably make a weekend of it arriving friday evening and leaving sunday giving all day saturday for shooting...
I will be sending emails to everyone of this post so they will have the heads-up... anyone else can join if ya want.. just a meet to shoot pics and the breeze... Oh.. and you DO NOT have to be a pro shooter!! I have had a few that asked if they could join even though they are very armature at photography...
The answer is YES!! You may come and join in on the shooting no matter what you have for equipment.. I for one am not a pro and going to be shooting 35mm... so, if you gotta a camera and want to shoot some pics.. join us!!
I will post more info on motels and such for those that also want to make a weekend of it..
