Samyang officially released their new AF 35mm F1.8 FE.
It is the latest addition to Samyang's E-mount line-up with a compact size, light weight and fast f/1.8 aperture. This prime lens provides mobility and convenience for shooting a wide range of subjects from environment portraits, food photography, cityscapes, landscapes and more.
Interested. Could be a nice, light and cheap option, but I really wish Sigma made a more compact 35mm f/1.4, similar what they did with their 85mm... Not a fan of samyang build "quality". Although it would look like this one would have a sealing ring at the mount so some weather resistance could be included. Just hope it will have a build quality closer to their 85mm f/1.4.
The new SY 35/1.8 lens has got a switch on its’ left side, which on the existing SY 75/1.8 lets you choose beteeen using the focus ring as either a focus or an aperture ring.
And I was struggling with making a choice between the 35 2.8 or the 45 1.8... Now I know what to buy, since I found the sony 35mm too expensive for its rendering.

As long as it reviews / tests well! We'll see. But it's good to have options.
I bet this will be pretty good! They should do a 35 and 50 1.4 v2. Good lens that I use a lot but the AF is apparently much better on their newer lenses.
Edit: saw that is exactly what the OP said too haha.
I've been very impressed with their 45mm f1.8 and 75mm f1.8 lenses so fingers crossed this is along the same lines. The 85 f1.4 was brilliant too but just never focussed reliably on my A7R4. (2 out of 3 would be ok, but you just couldn't trust it).
Now hurry up and bring out a 28 f1.8. This one is a bit hard to justify having the 45 f1.8 and 35 f2.8 already!
Interested in this, as long as the eye AF is good. The Sony version seems great, just expensive. I’m sure this one will hit the $300-400 category not long after release. Samyang seems to have a lot of good options to pair with the a7c

Imagine their 135/2 getting the same treatment as their 85/1.4 and 14/2.8...it might give the GM and Sigma a run for their money.
The new generation of their budget manual focus lenses still have the same crappy internal build, without proper focusing helicoids..
In my opinion if someone wants to buy a Samyang lens they should really go for the AF ones, because they are more durable, despite outward appearances and feel.
If this is as good as the 75/1.8, I'll swap my Sony 35/1.8 for it. And probably sell the Samyang 35/2.8 as well. If this is under 200g there wouldn't be much need for either.
