Had a great week in Zermatt, Switzerland - my wife, daughter and I did a short Klettersteig above town, and I hiked up to this restaurant for lunch.

I never cease to be impressed with how the Swiss have built in their landscapes... and there are no roads up to this little place.

Was pretty steep. We did this first:

Then my little one was finished, so her and my wife had lunch in town. I hiked up to the Edelweiss. Salad, meat plate, 2 glasses of wine, 2 liters of water and an espresso later and I hiked down.

Lovely buildings above Zermatt on my way down, where I met the family for gelato.

Oh man Mike..these are superb!!! Just a beautiful area! I hope the lunch was good and it was all a downhill hike back!!
A few cold brews and a wonderful sandwich and some cheese....I might need some help even walking down!

Thanks Dan. Lunch was great. And yes, it was downhill until I got into town and had to climb back up on the other side to the apartment. With a load of groceries.
