I think the difficulty to confirm the improvement is that every BIF scene is different, different speed, light, angle and so on. It's nearly impossible to quantify the changes. If some of the in house BIF experts like Geoff and Joshua say they feel it's improved, then it probably is.
We will have to do it collectively; whoever has some findings, post them here, please. In addition, we also need to rely more on Geoff in this case. If I spend 2-3 hours at the owl site waiting for just one or two BIF actions, I would feel more confident of getting the shots in the bag by using my A9 II. If the birds are active, then it is a different story. But now the owls are, lets say, lazy and don’t go hunt that often during the last 2 visits. I will take both cameras out this weekend and we will see.
Too bad the falcon season is over since there are quite a bit of more common birds that fly around at the site, like brown pelicans or seagulls for me to try on those.
