Even cheaper if you buy the 2 pack for $268 = $134

Another great price is the 650GB Cobalt card for $594 if you are into high data video formats.

That card will not record 8k or even 4k/120. You are better off with an SD card to save money.

You'll still get a much deeper buffer for stills shooting over the fastest SD cards. It still has max write 5x faster than an SD card...just can't maintain speed for 8K and 4K/120.

And most UHS-II top end SD cards to get to 250-300MB/s cost the same or even more.

I'm all set for cards!!
I'd buy the Delkin over the Prograde if I wanted a 128GB card anyways. Only $15 more and supports 8K/4K120

I don't even have an SD card as slow as that card. It tests under 200mb/s write. Maybe the read speed is fast but I don't care about that.

That is sustained write. It can do up to 1400MB/s in short bursts of stills photos. Try testing an SD card for sustained write and it will be magnitudes slower than 200MB/s.

But as I said the Delkin is a better buy for $15 more and can do 8K RAW. It does 1320MB/s sustained in testing by thessdreview.
I wouldn't buy the Prograde either.

Looks like that code just matches B&H/Amazon current price. Still a good price for one of the best cards out there.

Did you read thessdreview that says there is actually 2TB of NAND flash in that card in order to get the type of performance they are getting out of it.

Some people said they don't care about video and want to buy CFExpress for photography only
But I agree 140MB/s sustained write is not so good
I don't care about 8K video but I will record 4k 60 ( maybe 120 )
But I decided against ProGrade CFExpress 120 GB Gold... and will get Sony Tough CFExpress 128GB instead
Now I have Sandisk CFExpress 128GB ( so for 4k 60 video ) 2x128GB cards is plenty for me

Considering there are cards like the 128GB Delkin Power that are within $15 of the Prograde Gold and actually ~$75 less expensive than the 128GB Sandisk, I don't see why anyone would buy those two cards which have poor sustained write speeds...you aren't saving any money and you get worse performance....even if you never want to shoot video it doesn't really make any sense.

The Delkin matches the much more expensive Prograde Cobalt cards for sustained write speeds according to thessdreview's testing.

Yes, I saw your link in another thread. It made me glad that I purchased the 325. My researched seems to have paid off.

Yeah that code does match those prices; Prograde is late to their own sale party.

From reading some feedback from others, I thought that buying a decent SD card would do. I thought the Prograde Gold 128GB V60 UHC-II SD card would be good enough for me. I only shoot stills, but shoot wildlife and birds in flight, and like a deep buffer. I only get 30 shots in a row with the R5 and thé buffer takes 20 seconds to clear. Am I doing something wrong, or do I need a V90 card like the Prograde cobalt, or do I need the bigger 512GB cards that seem to be faster? Or, in the end, just get a CFexpress? Thx
Simon

The V60 and V90 are minimum continuous write speed for video. If you are shooting stills the continous write speed is what matters. Writes should be 250-300 MB/sec. on a decent SD UHS II card. CFe is several times faster and much preferred for action.

Review still in progress, but here's a post on the raw data we got in comparing SD cards in the R5...

PS: This is for stills mostly, as video throughput wasn't tested yet.

If you get a V90 card then that will double the max write speed. The V60 Prograde is 130MB/s write and the V90 is 250MB/s write. So that alone will get you a big improvement.

However, a good Delkin CFExpress card that can handle every video mode and write at many times faster than the V90 cards is usually less than $20 more than the V90 top end UHS-II cards.

So I'd just look at a Delkin Power CFe card if the 30 shots and 20s writes are hindering your shooting.

The other option is to shoot CRAW (if you aren't already) as that will probably get you a deeper buffer.

I currently have couple of Sony - SF-G Series 64GB SDXC UHS-II (V90) that I was using with A9II. Will they be good enough for R5 stills or do I need to get CFExpress card?

I have been using a UHS-I card for a month on stills with no problem. I have not done high speed 12 or 20 shots a second or video so far. I will get a UHS-II sometime soon.
