This is really nice work... it is a great study of an individual (or family group). The first two images are striking for their shallow depth of field and the use of wildflowers to frame the fox.
bravo!

Terrific shots. I especially like those 2 close up head shots.
Really nice set, Joshua. Between the accompanying flowers in the first couple and the complimentary warm light in the 4th and 5th, you've got some beautiful portraits here.
My observations are similar to yours in that they seem to do quite well "on the fringes" of (sub)urbanization. In fact, there are a few that come to our back "yard" (a very unique 'edge of woods in an otherwise very suburban landscape. There's a pair that have recently been stopping by for a quick drink from our ground-based birdbath. I'd love to get their portraits but with very limited distance and poor light, I don't think I'd be successful. So--I'm particularly grateful to enjoy your pictures!
Those first 5 Joshua are outstanding images my friend. You made it easy to connect with them. Such an uplifting experience this must have been, just beautiful!

Love the ethereal look of those first five. They are so soft and gentle and put me in a place I’d love to discover. Stay safe and be well!

Eric, I greatly appreciate your kind words. Please stay safe there, as well.

No, thank you and I greatly appreciate your kind words, Kim! Since you mentioned that a pair of foxes took a quick drink on your property, it reminds me of the situation at this particular site. One morning, I noticed that one of the fox kits was eagerly licking dew formed on ground cover there. Their habitat is relatively small to support a population of more than just a few. It doesn’t have any watering hole based on the rocky formation there. So, the foxes rely on rain water during the rainy season, which is short in Southern California. And they also rely on morning dew, which also not that reliable nor long lasting. Tough conditions for them...
