I was surpringsly able to find a review that compares the Sony 24-105 with the Tamron 28-200 specifically on the A7R IV. It sounds like the 24-105 pulls ahead of the 28-200 on the 61MP sensor, although the results are closer at 24MP or 42MP.
I have never used sonyalpha.blog before for reviews, so I do not know how objective and valid their reviews are. I typically use Lenstip, Optical Limits, and this website.
I don't go by other reviews.
Most of my shooting is with Fuji GFx and I am happy what this $700 lens can do on A7rIV. Maybe I should pickup 24-105mm to do side by side but just too busy with my full time job.
One with 28-200 and one with Fuji GF 32-64mm on GFX50s. Yes no GFX100s yet.

In particular, p.14 # 1, # 13, # 17, p.15 # 3 are not only fantastic photos, but also look very sharp on my screens and pretty evenly sharp across the frame. I am deeply impressed.

I am curious to hear about how your user experience comparing the A7rIV and the Gfx 50s. If you prefer we can do that through PM, but what advantages do you see with the MF Fuji over the FF Sony? I have the rIV, but have toyed with getting the 50r (I like the rangefinder style), but am not sure what it would add to what I already have.

We can discuss over PM. Basically APS-C<-FF<-MF. I would want PhaseOne IQ4 but too much money and focussing is still pain for non moving things. So only option is Fuji. Personally I like shooting with Fuji more. Still waiting to see what GFX50s-II has to offer. But if back log of GFX100s clears soon, I may order it.
Earlier this week as I was considering a little bit more whether to keep the Tamron 28-200 or the Sony 24-105, I decided to take a closer look at some of the photos that I took with the Tamron at 200mm. While sharper telephoto lenses exist, after looking through many of my telephoto shots I'm fairly pleased with the sharpness. All of these were taken handheld:

I ended up getting this lens again and wanted to test it in a harsh environment for CA following some rain. It's definitely there in some areas, but gosh this little lens has some impressive IQ and AF accuracy. Such a joy to use! I like how much detail it retains, even when cropping on 24MP.

The focal lengths are 130mm, 200mm, 200mm, 200mm, and 52mm, respectively. I don't believe I cropped any of these (I created 1:1 crops for Instagram, but those are separate). They are scaled down from 42MP to 6MP and some sharpening has been applied in Lightroom, so keep that in mind too! My guess would be that the borders/corners won't hold up as well when viewed at 100% compared to something like the Tamron 70-180 or a prime, but they hold up pretty well in the context of the whole image. Some of the images I shared benefit from having sky or water in the corners, which helps disguise softening.
This is completely anecdotal, but comparing separate images taken on the Tamron 28-200 compared with the Sony 24-105, the images with the Sony appear slightly sharper when viewed at 100%, so I end up adding more sharpening in Lightroom to the Tamron files...but once I add slightly more generous sharpening, it is difficult to tell the difference between images taken with both lenses.
I like how much detail it retains, even when cropping on 24MP.
