Here's a photo from a recent trip on Denali. I took both the Tamron 28-200 and the Sony 20mm 1.8. Most of my favorite photos came from the Tamron. Let me know what you think. This is my first time uploading here to FM as well as I'm very new to editing with Capture One.
I'm glad so many are enjoying this gem.
Kinda funny many would scoff. I understand why considering how many superzooms
I've owned over the years. Tamron got it right with this one.
Today I hiked to a waterfall on a gnarly wet slippery trail. I left the A1 in the camper and took the
a7c for weight/size matters...along with a Tamron 17-28 and the 28-200...me not knowing how close
or far I could get to the waterfall in question. That's one example of why I love this lens combo for
lightweight hiking.
Just got the lens today and first impressions are good. Just a quick snap of the pup but if it stays this close to this sharp throughout the range I'll be very happy
Still really enjoying my 28-200. This time I took it on a kayaking trip to Desolation Sound here in BC. Wasn't really quite long enough for any good wildlife shots but was great for sunset photos like this one I took of some paddleboarders approaching n. copeland island.

Hi there,
I am on the market for a lens in 70-200 range and considering Tamron 28-200 as a good alternative to 70200G/GM. Yet I looked up online full-sized images and found that many of them (taken on 28-200) are quite decentered for landscape photography.
CameraLabs samples are not sharp on the right side and the defect is well pronounced in this sample at 68mm, f/4 https://flic.kr/p/2jnMKRF
Dpreview samples show the same behavior at 28mm, f/2.8 dpreview sample
DCFever samples show the issue at 200mm, f/8 https://www.dcfever.com/lens/enlarge.php?id=23183
Could you please share your experience with Tamron 28-200 lens? Was it good from the 1st delivery or you exchanged it (how many times) before getting a good copy?
In my country it is hard to exchange lenses if they show slight or even mint decentering.
The issue reminds me the one with Tamron 70-180 lens I described 1 month ago here. And the same right side is affected.
Don't online sellers have a return policy (for instance 14 days) in your country?
That's how you do it - not sending the lens back and saying "this one is faulty, I want another one", but simply returning the lens and then doing a new order (perhaps at another seller).

Nope, they do not provide return policy yet I can refuse to accept the delivered lens and return it back for full refund within 7 days. If the lens box is sealed, and I break the seal, I can't return it anymore. Canon and Sony lens boxes are usually sealed these days
