Similar to a previous thread from the same location, the images from this post are compiled from various trips over several years to the Island of Bali, Indonesia. Dances play a very important part in the Balinese culture and all of the dances have a religious overtone. FYI, Hinduism is the prevailing religion there.
The first 3 images were captured at a real theatrical stage during live performances. The lighting of the first two, since the dances were in the evening, consisted of artificial stage light and the emphasis was put more on the main character. Images #4 and #5 were captured during actual religious ceremonies of younger dancers. I was just a spectator and just took those grab shots. Photo opps like these come up everywhere in Bali. Those young folks were so focused on what they were doing and basically not paying attention to you.
The remaining images were more or less done deliberately. My favorite dance based on the outfit, head dress, etc. is Legong dance as depicted in #7 and #8. Those are 2 sets of different dancers captured 2 years apart. They are real Legong dancers. None of them are full-time dancers; they do have day jobs and dance on stage on a part-time basis.

Thank you very much for your kind words, Greg! I see your point and the reason for me to include that is because of its candid nature. Actually, only the last 3 images were not captured candidly but #5 was more so.
