I am not too desperate for the 75 1.5 port or the 35 1.2 v.3 (especially given the performance here. I didn't even bother to check, but I trust Fred's and Juha's findings).
I see the a 24 1.2/1.4 as being too close to the 21 1.4, or at least it would make more sense to release a 28mm with the 21/35 gap, lack of decent 28 options, and given that most RF's have 28 frame lines natively so a VM could come out and be ported to e-mount, which CV seems to prefer but perhaps they'd do an e-mount only has they have before a couple times here recently.
I'd like to see a smallish low distortion 24/2 (not specifically from CV, but any M-mount manufacturer) that's got a little under-corrected SA wide open but gets brilliant across the frame by f/4.

I'd take it, sounds lovely, but as as a 28. I don't like 24's.

For those curious, the coma performance on this new 35/1.2 is bad. Here's a photo at 1.2, with corner crop from the upper right. Focused on the center stars, and this is on the merciful a7s.

Another short tele that might enter the mix is a Sigma Contemporary 90/2.8 in the same vein as their 45/2.8. Sigma could make it a 75/2.8 or 85/2.8 as well. Just speculating, I have no insight into Sigma’s plans.
A lightweight CV 75/1.5 corrected for Sony could be a good idea. Chopping of 10mm from an 85mm to make a 75/1.5 FE may enable Cosina to keep the lens lightweight, optically good and still fast. Same thinking as what Tamron has done with their FE zooms.

If it's primarily for use on Sony bodies then I think the native 35/1.4 or 40/1.2 could make more sense as long as this one has to be adapted. 35/1.4 is considerably cheaper too. If there are additional options to use the lens adapted on other mirrorless or natively on Leica M then the new 35/1.2 III could be very nice for multi-system use.

Do you guys really think this one is that much better than the already present native e-mount Voigtlander 35mm f/1.4 (wink, wink)?

The CV 35/1.4 E-mount's rendering is pretty funky though. It's not for everyone.

Yeah For those who might not like the 35/1.4 wide open rendering, there's always the 40/1.2 and probably the 35/1.2 will make it to E-mount sooner or later. Still enjoying the smaller size of the VM though and I plan to use it more on my Sigma fp but won't hesitate to use it on my Sony either since it adapts so well and I like the ease of being able to shoot at hard infinity without pulling back a little which I need to do with the native Sony versions. That might be different from copy to copy / camera to camera and depends on adapter thickness though.

Rendering is indeed subjective and it was the main reason I wanted to try the Nokton Classic. My main gripe about it is that it really needs stopping down to around f/2.8 to get sharp up close :/ . Is it any better with the new f/1.2 ?

Vignetting in the corners also looks pretty extreme, probably in the ballpark of the 21mm 1.4 (3.5 EV).
Not my choice for astrophotography either.

The new CV 35 1.2 is sharp centrally @ 1.2 (though not at/near MFD because of increase SA). The CV 35 1.4 is a different thing (and worse optically) entirely.

I also think 35/1.2 is sharper in close distance. I have both lenses so I can try to take some comparison shot(s) at home at close distance later this week as soon as I have enough time from teleworking...

Can't say I like the transition zone too much.
Rendering seems to be closer to the 40mm 1.2 than the newer 50mm 1.2, I was hoping it to be closer to the 50mm. Might have been too optimistic.
Should also be getting a review sample soon, maybe this week even.
