beautifully done, Pius. what amazing action shots. the whites are exposed just perfect. would you mind adding the exif next time around.

It is amazing what an old dinosaur brick of a camera can pull off when the right man is behind the wheel

I'm liking the results you are getting Pius. I suspect the photographer has a lot to do with the great results.

Thanks Morris,

Focus and tracking on the 1dx III surpasses any other canon camera I have used by a long shot. The only habit I have to break myself of is pumping the back button anyone who has used a canon for birds inflight would be fully aware of what I'm talking about....

Case 4 works extremely well with default settings for fast and erratic subjects like the buffle heads and oyster catcher. I mostly use "expand AF area: 4 point ", "expand AF area:surround 8 point" and "manual select: zone AF" . Fully auto work excellent also, just...Show more →

Getting intimate with the camera so that you learn the little intricacies that lets the photographer get the most from there gear makes a huge difference as you have demonstrated.

Gear selection/preference is personal and as long as the gear works and it seems that your gear not only did that but it did that splendidly. Indeed, you certainly proof that the person behind the camera counts in getting those excellent images, Pius!

Unless they are hovering for an extended period, birds IF are all to fast for me. Great set!
