"We have received new release date information related to the order. The item listed below will actually ship sooner than we originally expected based on the new release date."
Says I should get it delivered Wed, March 11.

Alas the recent 200-600G still uses DDSSM and IMO is noticeably slower than the 100-400 which uses both DDSSM + double linear motor.

I have the CV 21/3.5 and I'm contemplating selling it to fund the FE 20/1.8. I do love the compactness of the CV, especially when traveling. Though the FE would be better for astrophotography.

I have a converted Contax G21 (similar size to the CV 21/3.5) I love to death, so I won’t sell, but the G20 here isn’t a large lens. If you wait between 2-6 months, you’ll be able to get $200 off the G20 on the B/S forum. I usually wait like this.
What’s your kit?
For my tiny (and most used) kit I have a G21, CV 35 1.7 or 2 and a Sonnetar 73 1.5. Replacing the G21 with the G20 for AF, speed or astro needs keeps the kit pretty small and the spacing is still great.

Do we know the T-stop of the 24 GM?
Bright lenses usually lose more light than slower lenses, so the actual light loss may be less than 2/3 stop. I'm guessing 1/3 to 1/2 stop difference is more likely.

The 2/3rd stop difference (almost 1 stop) was based on their maximum apertures.
I see your point though and when I get my hands on the 20/1.8G, I will shoot them under identical lighting in manual exposure mode so we can have a better understanding of their T-stop difference.

Biggest difference between he 20 and 24...well one is a 20mm lens, the other 24mm. Pick your focal length, then the lens of that focal length that meets your requirements. Never just pick the highest image quality lens irrespective of focal length. There s a very significant difference between a 24mm image and a 20mm image.

Maybe I am. But that's why I was interested to hear if anyone actually know the T-stop of the 24. I admit I don't have much data for T-stops. But from looking at dxomark which do measure it, all of Sony's F1.4 lenses they have measured have T-stops of 1.5 or 1.6, while all Sony F1.8 lenses have a 1.8 T-stop.
So I'm not convinced the difference is "almost one stop" in light gathering ability.
