Thanks for the encouragement. Actually, what you see is one of the most dramatic sunsets I have ever seen and as we all know, none of us can ever take credit for what happens in a sunset. We just try to be at the right place at the right time and if conditions develop, then we give it our best shot(s).
The weather had cloud cover just ending before the cooler air moved in and we caught the sun going down behind the end of the cloud "blanket". It was so dramatic that it would have been easy just to watch and not even shoot photos.

I'm in awe of the selection posted here for best of the year but here's my choice. Not exactly a "landscape" but one of my favourites from this year.
The original was taken with a 10d and converted to greyscale, cropped and contrast increased.
