Amazing, one of the few people like me that sees the real problem. The sad part is that nothing will be done to curb population growth. The richest and most powerful countries in the world need population growth to keep their economies going. And then there are the religious zealots that put quantity of life before quality of life.

A simple fact: The consumption of power per capita increases every year. Figure it out.

I must disagree, America keeps it's economy churning by fighting "Holy Wars" on foreign soil.

I am comfortable that the fate of the planet is in the good hands of physics, and thermodynamics. The future generations of man will have to make the best they can of this. In the end it is out of our hands.

I can see your point, you're taking a very long view.
But the shorter view is, in the next 100 years or so, there will be mass extinctions, and a huge destabilization that will cause enormous human suffering and a world that will be grimmer and sadder than the one you and I are privileged to enjoy. It just makes sense to me to do what we can now to take better care of our natural resources and fight the industries/politicians/tv networks, etc. that manufacture and/or propagate lies and confusion around these issues. I, for one, find it depressing and frankly, shameful to just throw up our hands and say "it's beyond my control, there's nothing I can do".

[Feeble attempt to get back to camera related topics]
THAT'S why I have no problem with PD sending me emails about their carbon neutral initiative.

The planet will seek equilibrium no matter what we do.

Be real. You’re in a thread where the OP doesn’t understand the basic terms of Kickstarter and was openly mulling scamming his credit card company because reading comprehension is hard. This thread was always going off the rails

Off the top of my head there are very very few countries I can think of that permits this though (30 days, many online stores in the UK etc. will accept returns)

And dimensions. I think it's BA that has no max. weight (stated) on hand luggage (at least on its European flights). Maybe Easyjet has something like 32kgs too. I forget exactly, I fly with too many airlines to remember the details . No loyalty - just a price whore

While I agree that this thread has strayed a bit far afield, I appreciate it for the further confirmation of why I hate the entire concept of Kickstarter for funding development of products by established companies. (almost as much as I hate GoFundMe campaigns from people whose car breaks down or furnace needs cleaning begging for someone else to pay.)

I am very "real". That is the point. I personally could care less if a thread strays off topic or if something is posted "where it shouldn't be". Sometimes they are interesting and no one is forcing anyone to read anything. What I don't care for are hypocrites

"How about because it is a forum specifically for the discussion of Sony gear, not for a heads up for every sort of problem that people run into every day. It just adds clutter to this forum."

Not my words, Maybe someone should practice what they preach

Got mine last night. Other than being heftier than I'd imagine, I have no complaints. It's the best compact tripod I've owned.

No offense but best you have owned, you really do not have much experience with it if you just got it last night just curious how much experience you have with it so far? What conditions, wind, vibration, ease of use, experience with the head and locking mechanisms I am sure many would like to know more about how it works and is to use.

I understand well enough how credit card companies work and they do not get scammed I can assure you. They would charge Peak Design back if I was successful. Luckly if you had read this thread you will see where I sold it to someone else an hour after I put it on ebay. If Peak Design can put out a product they can stand behind it. I am a manufacturer and we and everyone else stands behind their products.

I'm well aware of how a chargeback works. I'm also aware that if a company's terms of sale (i.e. kickstarter/PD selling on kickstarter) explicitly says no returns, you should have the moral wherewithal to understand that buying that product is a risk instead of leaning on your credit card company to get around those terms of sale. You might not like the kickstarter business model, and that's fine. That why ordering direct from PD is also an option.

And good on you for selling it, which is what you should have always considered as your only option.

Your being in manufacturing has zero bearing on how kickstarter works or what a kickstarter patron should expect, and clearly PD is standing behind their gear, even the crowdsourced stuff, and they told you as much.

Well maybe if you paid attention, you would notice I did not start this thread. You would also notice that it has gone off-track and members are posting comments that have nothing to do with Sony. Once it reaches that point, it is an open forum.

Goes to prove that the OP should not have posted on this forum in the first place, eh?

I have 14 more years on these forums than you have, so I have seen it happen a few more times than you have.

I suspect this thread was going where it's gone regardless of which forum it started on... One of those you just get the popcorn and wait for the inevitable...

Don't have to be on here 14 years+ to know that's coming.

I hate to keep this nonsense going but for some reason others have turned it into a five page long ?

I am a Sony so I posted it on the forum I use and have bookmarked right or wrong.

I posted it to inform others who may or may not be aware of kickstarter or Peak Designs policy on this tripod nothing more nothing less.

I was trying to be helpful and for reasons only other posters can figure out (I have my own ideas) people decide they need to add there two cents when it does add anything positive to the thread other than apparently make posters feel good or superior or expound on their knowledge like most threads.

If you already understood the policy there really isn't a reason to comment now is there?

If you did not know you learned something.

Lets see who else feels the need to keep on adding pages to a very simple (informative for some) post that frankly did not need any response at all. You either learned something or you didn't of if you have a question you can ask the forum or OP pretty simple really.
